This is yoga, shared from a humanist perspective. A gentle, meaningful, lifelong investigation into the human condition, using the body as a gateway. Humanism is a non-religious philosophy, based on liberal human values.
You'll work with your posture, your sensory awareness and your breath. And you'll develop your ability to move the body, still the mind and relax.
The slow and mindful style of movement we practice makes it highly accessible.
Variations are offered to give you more or less challenge, depending on your own unique strengths and limitations.
Each season we practice different sequences, offering a balance of repetition and variety - deepening and broadening your yoga experience over time.
Weekly practice carries over into daily life. Regular yoga practice creates an anchor point that helps you to restore and renew your sense of calm and joie de vivre, with each week that passes.
Step one: New to Lotus Leaf? Please take a moment to register with the practice
At Lotus Leaf we move mindfully, paying close attention to how we feel. There's never any call to force or strain. Still, like all forms of exercise, it's possible to injure yourself.
Please take responsibility for your yoga practice. Move in a way that feels right for your body. Pain is the body’s warning system, you should never ignore it. If you have a health condition that leaves you in doubt about whether yoga is appropriate for you, please check with your GP or health professional before booking your classes.
Let your teacher know before the start of your session if your ability to exercise has changed - for example pregnancy, muscle soreness or joint pain. Let her know if you feel any discomfort during a session. Or if you felt any discomfort after a previous session.
If you're pregnant, for safety reasons you'll need to find a specialist pregnancy class. It's wise to wait six weeks after giving birth before practicing yoga.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Step two: Book your space for the season
Agree & book in
Our group practice yoga together for four ten week seasons a year, with a one or two week breaks in between seasons, and one short five week season in the run up to Christmas.
You have up to ten class credits per 10 week season. If you can't make your regular class one week, you can arrange to swap to another class that week, or come twice another week in the Season, or offer your class credit to a friend or family member.
Terms Payment is due in full for the space held for you, whether or not you attend each week. Please check you'll be free to attend often enough to make your season ticket worthwhile before joining.
