Pure joy at the weekend! Granv and I were strolling around Cambridge and followed our noses into the amazing (free!) Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. What a find! It's a gorgeous place full of colourful curiosities. I was quite astonished to come across this cast of a tiny Harrapan Seal.
Harppan seals were discovered in the 1920s during exavations of the sites of the Ancient Indus River Valley Civilization. They're often quoted as the earliest physical evidence of yoga ~ suggesting a tradition around 5000 years old.
I'm aware from my studies that the yoga we practice at Lotus Leaf is an evolving, contemporary practice, with multiple historical influences. I'm most interested in sharing yoga's central, timeless, universal challenge. To delight in our curious, fleeting experience of embodied consciousness, whoever we are, wherever we're at, and with all the sensitivity we can muster.
